Quick recap - we're on our first cruise, departing with Princess Cruises on Sapphire Princess from Southampton UK. Today we arrived in France and got to spend some time in an incredible region, Bordeaux. This is wine tasting country for sure, Bordeaux has an incredible reputation for some of the best tasting French red wine, the most amazing chateaus and a particularly classy scene.
As far as wine tours in Bordeaux go, this was more of a wine tasting and vineyard tour with included history and lunch. It's a classy scene in Bordeaux, so it's not just about drinking and forgetting, there's an elegance here that we tried to capture the essence of in the vlog.
Bordeaux has always been one of those places we never really imagined we would visit, so when we found out our Princess Cruise was going there it was simple, a shore excursion and wine tour were a must! If you get the chance to visit France and Bordeaux be sure to scope out as many vineyards and chateaus as you possibly can!

I frickin love the European architecture,the grand halls,the hand carved walls ,panels and statues,how the gardens are all made up of squares,rectangles and circles,yet all fit and complete the big picture,the old designers only knew grandeur and luxury.
Thorfinn986_doesn't_do_average it is so true! Especially for places in France. And what’s so great about it is they really take the time and effort to preserve it. They could’ve transitioned to more modern architecture, but they have laws in place so it keeps it’s integrity. Incredible!

at 8.18 is the remains of WW2 Atlantic wall bunkers, getting their feet wet, since hurricane Xanthia re modeled the coast.
It's the region of France we call home, also keep our boat at La Rochelle.

Here in france, a great bottle of wine starts arounds 3 or 4 €
wrong. A low-average bottle, yet drinkable or to cook. Good starts at 7-8€ . Excellent starts 10-15€ - Great starts 20-30€ - Fantastic starts 50+ - Romanée Conti , Petrus or Cheval Blanc are out of range :p

I haven't written for several weeks as I am just returning from Scotland so I am really anxious to hear about your trip to that beautiful country. As always, well done!
How was your trip in Scotland? Can say from our quick and limited viewing so far that it is AMAZING. Blown away by how special this place is.

I've been fortunate enough to travel to Scotland a number of times and absolutely love the culture, the people and especially the rustic setting of it all. We stayed a few days in Edinburgh this trip and enjoyed a few whisky tours and tastings...always a good time! Three years ago we traveled to Macrihanish just off the west coast and really enjoyed this little village nestled in with Campbeltown. Especially liked the Springbank distillery tour. Its challenging to really get a feel for Scotland in only a few days which is one reason I have returned so many times. Besides, the golf is like no other place in the world. And they have Guinness!!!

Great tour! Need to put this tour on my list... Love sea days... I call them ME Days..sleep in and relax and enjoy the ship. Usually, they have a pub lunch (complimentary) check the Princess Patter.
We felt the same actually, sea days are amazing to sit back and enjoy life, watch the sea go by and eat and drink!
Yes you definitely need to add this to the list! 100 percent worth it!
Our first stop next month (weather permitting - Tender port) is Guernsey...doing this on our own...Can't wait to see what you thought. Lots of history there...Now you will need to watch the movie... The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
Interesting! It's a really great place, if you have the time be sure to check out the beaches, we didn't get there but friends did and said it was stunning. Our vid is out tomorrow :)

Apparently the tremors from the recent earthquake in western France were felt as far south as Bordeaux. So visiting from the ship was perfect.
